New Season – Practical Arrangements

The new season starts tomorrow Saturday 7th September for our junior section. The junior section on the common is divided into the following groups (for the 19/20 school year and age at 1 September 2019)


Year 1/u6

Year 2/u7

Year 3/u8

Year 4/u9

Girls year 3, 4 and 5 (u8,u9,u10)

A reminder that girls and boys play together in mixed groups up to and including year 2 /u7. After then all our girls have the option at year 3/u8 and beyond to either stay in the mixed groups or join the dedicated girls groups.

We are happy with either choice you make and would probably advise you to stay in the mixed groups if your daughter is enjoying it. If you are a parent of a girl new to Broomwood, the dedicated girls group at u8/u9/u10 is probably the best place to start.

  • We start at 1030am but please be there early to ensure a prompt start. Shin pads and football boots are essential for safety and bring a drink and a snack for the breaks.

    We are also launching our new girls academy group for girls in u11s, u12s and u13s (years 6, 7 and 8) on Saturday. This group will start at 12 noon and run to 1.30pm and will take place in the same place as our girls section from 10.30am to 12 noon as shown in the map above.

    We are volunteer run so please remember to help coaches with set up and admin or get involved in coaching yourselves.
    And importantly please remember this is NOT a drop off session. Parents or another responsible adult MUST stay with their child at all times.

    The football finishes at 12 noon- earlier for reception/u5s.

    Please help move equipment at the end and of course remove all rubbish from the common when you leave.
