About the club

Welcome to Broomwood Football Club

Broomwood FC is an FA Charter Standard youth football club founded in 1988 and based in Wandsworth Common in South West London. We are entirely volunteer run. BFC is the 2016 Community Sport and Recreation Awards’ Overall Winner (UK Community Club of the Year) and previous winners of Active Wandsworth Awards’ Sports Club of the Year. The Club has over 1250 children (including over 250 girls) playing in age groups from Reception to U18, which makes us one of the largest youth football clubs in the UK.

This includes non-competitive football in Reception-Year 4, a dedicated girls section and over 30 league teams from Year 5 and upwards playing in the London County Saturday Youth Football League (LCSYFL) and Tandridge Youth League on Sundays, and girls teams playing last season from u11 to u18s in the Capital Girls League,

Broomwood FC

For Boys and Girls!

The ethos of the club is simple: for children of all abilities to be encouraged to come and have fun playing football, and hopefully develop some skills, friendships and respect through doing so. We are especially keen to welcome girls to join our dedicated and fast growing girls section. See news section for how to get involved. The club is run entirely by the parents and everyone is expected to participate from setting up cones and goals through coaching and running of the club. This is what creates the unique atmosphere – so come along, join in and help out.

AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon and the AFC Wimbledon Foundation are the closest professional football club to Broomwood FC.

In March 2014 the AFC Wimbledon formally launched the AFC Wimbledon Foundation, the charitable foundation that coordinates the various community projects in which the Club is involved.

Since its formation in 2002, the Club has always sought to deliver a broad range of community projects, and the AFC Wimbledon Foundation will continue this work with local organisations to address issues around education, health, social inclusion and unemployment for people of all ages in Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston.

The partnership with Broomwood FC was established in 2017 with the aim of providing coaching support, playing opportunities and building stronger long term links between our clubs.

Fulham FC

Fulham Football Club and the Fulham FC Foundation is a leading community charity building better lives through sport. With more than 20 years of experience, we use the power of sport to provide meaningful education, employability, health, inclusion, environmental, and sport programmes.

At the heart of their work is a commitment to empowering members of the communities in which we work, including the Broomwood FC relationship which was established in 2017.

The aim of the partnership is to build links between the clubs providing opportunities to share coaching and playing ideas and provide exciting opportunities for the BFC player such as tournaments, watching matches and coaching sessions.
